Crane building: Special space-saving solutions with electric chain hoists

Customers of the Haisch Kran company benefit from the experience gathered in over 8,000 projects realised by the crane-building pros. The employees around Peter Haisch have been experts in crane and hoisting technology for more than 50 years. The range of services extends from planning to commissioning. In March 2011, for example, two special ceiling cranes with electric chain hoists SK of the Mannheim-based hoist specialist SWF Krantechnik GmbH were commissioned.

The first special ceiling crane with a load capacity of 5 tons and a span of 11.5 metres was installed at Weinmayr GmbH in Wiesensteig (Germany). The requirement with respect to maximum lifting height was optimally realised. With a hook height only 600 mm beneath the interfering edge of the ceiling, all technical possibilities were exhausted. Another challenge was posed by the statics of the production hall, in which technical plastic parts are produced with the injection moulding process. For this reason, a special end carriage with 16 wheels per crane rail side was constructed in order to adapt the wheel loads to the given conditions.

The second special ceiling crane was also constructed for limited spatial conditions. Here too, a low design height was required by the operator, which is active in structural steelwork engineering, Nägele GmbH from Eislingen/Fils (Germany). The crane has a load capacity of 2 tons and a span of 14.8 metres. As with the first crane, an electric chain hoist SK from SWF Krantechnik GmbH was used as hoisting gear. When dimensioning the crane bridge, an asymmetrical travel distance in the travel direction of the crane was taken into account both in terms of statics and construction technology. Another special feature is the divided radio remote control. Due to one receiver each on the crane and in the trolley, no disruptive cable carrier along the crane bridge is required for controlling the system.
