The fact that special wire ropes aren’t simple parts of a hoist was well known to every user. But that they offer many interesting aspects in the line of correct usage, maintenance and security was not as well known to the participants in the training units given by DIEPA. Both two-day trainings were organised as a cooperation between the Neustadt based wire rope specialist and Mannheim based hoisting specialist SWF Krantechnik and was held at the DIEPA plant in Neustadt near Coburg.

Topics were such as handling and mounting, monitoring and depositing criteria, greasing, observing diverter elements of the crane and others. DIEPA and SWF specialists were able to communicate the topics in an interesting and easily understandable way. Through simple, practical examples the knowledge about steel wire ropes was passed on.

The very positive feedback of all crane specialists and service technicians from all over Germany encourages both host companies to offer more trainings along these lines.
